Mr. Nariman H. Wadia
Founder, Late Mr. Nariman H. Wadia (R.I.P. 26 April 2016), was associated with the gem and jewellery industry for 56 years and was also a consultant for jewellery manufacturing processes. He studied jewellery design at the London County Council Central School of Art and was the only Indian to be elected a member of the American Appraisers’ Association. He was a co-convenor for the Product Development Centre (JPDC) and was also on the Research and Development Committee of the GJEPC. He was nominated as a member of the Trade Advisory Panel for the Gold Jewellery by the Commissioner of Customs (Airport). His familiarity with the Japanese market as well as his experience in working with platinum, a metal with a history of popularity in that country, enabled him to offer hard-core consultancy to Indian firms dealing with Japan. Nariman H. Wadia’s revolutionary application of ideas in the manufacturing process for bracelets provided units devoted to the manufacture of this product with a quantum jump in production capability.

In his passing away, the jewellery industry has lost an icon.

May his soul rest in peace.
